Letybo in Leander & Georgetown, TX

Letybo is the newest FDA-approved K-Tox neurotoxin in the U.S., made in South Korea by Hugel and approved for the frown lines or "11's" between your brows.

What is Letybo?

Letybo (letibotulinumtoxinA) is a botulinum toxin type A, the same family as Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, Jeuveau and Xeomin. It is made by Hugel in South Korea, where it has been the #1 best-selling neurotoxin for 10 consecutive years*, and it is used in more than 70 countries.

The FDA approved Letybo on February 29, 2024 for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (the "11s") in adults. It relaxes the muscles that pull your brows together, so the lines soften while the rest of your expression stays your own.

The before and after shown here is one of our own patients, treated by Kamryn for frown lines.

Letybo vs Botox and Dysport

All three are botulinum toxin type A and work the same basic way. The differences are in how each is made, what it is approved for, and how it behaves in a given muscle.

  • Letybo: made by Hugel in Korea. FDA-approved in 2024 for frown lines between the brows.
  • Botox Cosmetic: the most studied. FDA-approved for frown lines, forehead lines, crow's feet and neck bands.
  • Dysport: spreads slightly more, which can suit broader areas. FDA-approved for frown lines.

Head-to-head studies have shown comparable wrinkle improvement with Letybo's active ingredient and Botox in the areas studied, so we won't tell you one is stronger, faster or longer-lasting. Units don't convert between brands either, so switching is a dosing decision for your injector, not a one-for-one swap.

What to expect from Letybo treatment

01

Consultation

We watch your face move, ask about any past neurotoxin results, and decide together whether Letybo is the right product for you.

02

Treatment

A few small injections into the frown muscles. Plan on 30 to 60 minutes for the appointment, and most people go straight back to their day.

03

Results

Lines begin to soften over the first several days as the muscles relax. Your full result shows at about two weeks.

04

Two-week check

We can see you at two weeks to assess how your muscles responded and adjust if needed. It's how we keep results natural.

Letybo with Kamryn Kettering

Kamryn is a Certified Aesthetic Injector with Master Neurotoxin training through Monarch Master Injectors in Texas, working under the medical direction of Dr. Rupal Patel, MD. She carries Botox, Dysport and Letybo, so the product is chosen for your face, not the other way around.

She starts with the dosage that provides the best desired outcome for the patient. She can always add more if needed at your two-week check; but if over treated, it means waiting months for it to wear off and that's not something she's willing to compromise on. That's why the results provided at Contour & Sculpt Aesthetics make you look rested and refreshed, never frozen.

How long does Letybo last?

Like other neurotoxins, Letybo wears off gradually as the muscle recovers. Hugel reports results lasting up to four months, and treatments are spaced at least three months apart.

How long yours lasts depends on how strong the muscle is, how much movement you want to keep and how regularly you're treated. Most of our neurotoxin patients return every three to four months, and many can stretch that interval over time.

Oversight and standards

Treatments at Contour & Sculpt are performed by Kamryn Kettering, Certified Aesthetic Injector, trained through Monarch Master Injectors and the Allergan Medical Institute, under the medical direction of Dr. Rupal Patel, MD. Medical direction governs our dosing protocols, product sourcing, and clinical standards at both locations. We use FDA-approved products exclusively and maintain documented protocols for adverse-event response.

About pricing

We quote after the assessment, not before. Neurotoxin is priced per unit and filler per syringe, and the honest answer to “how much” is that it depends on how much you actually need, which we won't know until we've looked at your face. What we will tell you is the number before anything is drawn up, and we'll tell you if we think you need less than you came in asking for. We accept Allé and ASPIRE manufacturer rewards, and financing through Cherry, Klarna, and Affirm. Learn about financing.

Letybo FAQs

Yes. The FDA approved Letybo on February 29, 2024 for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.

They are both botulinum toxin type A and work the same way, but they are different products from different makers. Units are not interchangeable, so your injector doses each one on its own terms.

Because it is made in South Korea by Hugel, where it is one of the most widely used neurotoxins. "Korean Botox" is a nickname; Letybo is its own FDA-approved product, not a version of Botox.

Most people notice softening within the first several days. We judge the full result at your two-week check.

Hugel reports results lasting up to four months, and treatments are spaced at least three months apart. Your timing depends on your muscles and how often you've been treated.

Letybo is priced per unit, and how many units you need depends on your muscles, not a standard chart. We give you the exact number before anything is drawn up. Financing is available through Cherry, Klarna and Affirm.

In clinical trials the most common side effect was headache (2%). Drooping of the eyelid or brow happened in under 1% of patients. Mild redness, swelling or bruising at the injection sites can happen with any injection and usually fades within a day or two.

Letybo is FDA-approved for frown lines between the brows. Depending on your anatomy and goals, Kamryn may recommend treatment for other areas, such as a lip flip, bunny lines or chin dimpling. Those are off-label uses: the product is FDA-approved, but not for that specific area. We'll talk through suitability, expected benefits, risks and alternatives at your consultation.

Yes, many patients do. Because units don't convert one-for-one, we treat a switch like a first visit: we map your face, start conservatively and check you at two weeks.

Letybo is not for anyone allergic to a botulinum toxin product or with an infection at the injection site, and we don't treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell us about any muscle or nerve conditions and all your medications at your consultation.

Additional treatment options

Depending on your anatomy and goals, your provider may recommend treatment for areas such as lip flip, bunny lines, or chin dimpling. These are off-label uses, meaning the selected product is FDA-approved but has not been FDA-approved for that specific treatment area. Suitability, expected benefits, risks, and alternatives will be discussed during your consultation.

Please read before treatment

Letybo is a prescription medicine. Like all botulinum toxin products, its effects may spread from the injection area hours to weeks after treatment and cause symptoms such as muscle weakness, double or blurred vision, drooping eyelids, trouble speaking or swallowing, or trouble breathing. Swallowing and breathing problems can be life threatening. Get medical help right away if you have any of these symptoms.

Letybo is approved only for frown lines between the eyebrows. Read the full Prescribing Information and Medication Guide.
